Mi amore Venezia

At the beginning of this week, I went on a short trip to Venice for four days in which I spent it wondering the canals and streets, exploring all the beautiful sights it has. Watch out for my next post where I’ll show you my outfits I wore whilst I was there. I had been a couple of years ago, however I was too young to really appreciate the magnificence of this city.
After waking up at 2.45am on Monday, we made our way to the airport and flew to Venice where we hopped on a water taxi and sped along to the Molino Stucky where we were staying. We immediately headed out to wonder the streets around St. Marks Square from Calle de la Canonica and Calle Spadaria with street vendors and gelaterie.

The next day, we visited Burano, the famous lace island and also known for it’s brightly coloured houses. This was one of the most picturesque towns I have ever been to and even in the 30 degree heat, I didn’t want to be anywhere else.  Being immersed in the colours; from green to red to blue to pink, it was calm and tranquil, a great escape from the tourist attractions of Venice.

On our last full day, me and my family just strolled around Venice, content with getting lost and finding new places we hadn’t seen before. As this is one of my favourite places in the entire world, this was my perfect day. Exploring the beauty and being free to go wherever you want gave me the freedom to find hidden escapes and places where only locals go. I loved coming across squares where it was suddenly quiet and you could only hear a faint buzz of the commotion that was all around.
