Essentials: In flight make up

Whenever I go on holiday it’s a must for me to take an in flight make up bag- short or long haul. I use this to hold on very few but essential items to wake me up and give me a healthy glow for when I step off the plane. This is usually a problem for me as I tend to have very early morning flights where I wake up at 4-5am so to stop myself from looking like a zombie I make sure I always pack one.
In flight make up bagI always include:

  • Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer
  • Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder (transparent)
  • Real Techniques power brush
  • Eos lip salve
  • Nivea Pearly Shine
  • Hairbrush (mine is from Forever 21)
  • Hand or body lotion

For long haul flights I add:

  • Pro-radiance moisturiser (mine is from Elemis)
  • Face exfoliator

These are all optional, however I choose this combination as they give me an instant lift and gives me more colour to my face (as well as hiding those zombie under eye circles) whilst all being in the limit of 100ml. As airports are very strict I tend to put everything into my own plastic zip lock  before I go to make sure it all fits- I always have nightmares of them pulling me aside and confiscate things from me- so everything goes smoothly. I have two lipsalves as I like the choice and will usually slap on some pearly shine before exiting to compliment the new-found healthy glow I have given myself.

In flight make up

These are other in flight essentials you may want, especially for long haul. The masks are great for relaxing and getting some moisture into your face, especially at such high altitudes in an aeroplane as that can leave your face very dry and tight sometimes.
Do you have any in flight must haves that you can’t live without? Let me know in the comments!

Tried and tested lipsalves

I have a need to constantly have a lipsalve with me, it’s always the last thing I check before stepping out the door. Because of this I’ve ploughed my way through a fair few and am always searching for a better one. Some are better than others and lipsalves are a great way to keep your lips moisturised and soft.

Eos- These lipsalves are really soft and they come in various flavour (vanilla mint is my favourite) and the spherical shape makes it easy to hold/ use but may not comfortably fit in your pocket.  However I do like that you only need one application to last you a good couple of hours so you don’t need to be constantly reapplying.

Nivea- Nivea is my all time favourite as it has a creamy application that lasts a long time. The original is perfect for moisturising, however the pink shimmer is great for a day out or as a substitute for a lipstick! The shimmer creates a fun summer look. I would recommend this brand for the most practical and versatile balm.

Elemis- this minty lipsalves has been given to me on aeroplane flights and is a great luxury brand. Although I don’t think you can buy this normally, you can buy Elemis lip revive or quenching lip balm online.

Hershey’s- This isn’t the most practical lip balm, however it’s fun to have and smells like Hershey’s! I bought mine from Primark, however you can also get Reeses lipsalve (my all time favourite chocolate!)
